How to connect?

Before connecting to a remote PC be sure that the Anyplace Control Host Module is installed/started on the remote PC and that the remote PC is connected to LAN or to the Internet.

Connecting to a Computer on the Same LAN.
If both PCs (Host and Admin) are located in the same LAN, the easiest modes of connection are either via PC name or via IP address.

Follow the instructions:
|
1. | Start the Admin Module application on your computer using either the Start menu or using a desktop shortcut.
|
2. | Select the "IP-address Connection" tab.
|
3. | Click on the "ADD NEW PC" button for adding a new remote computer to the Address Book.
|
4. | Enter a remote IP address or click "Browse" and select target computer from the Network Places.
|
5. | Select the target remote PC in the Address Book; click the "Connect" button; enter the Access Password in the appearing dialog box.
|
6. | Control the remote computer using your mouse and keyboard.
|
|
Note: if you could not establish a connection, please, check whether a connection is blocked by antivirus/firewall. You may need to enter both Modules into antivirus/firewall allow list.

Connecting via the Internet.
If you know the external IP address of the remote PC, follow the instructions mentioned above to establish a connection with a remote computer. These instructions are applicable for both types of connections: in LAN and via the Internet.

Very frequently you don't always know the current IP address of a remote PC, as it can be dynamic and change from time to time. Or it can be internal and not accessible via the Internet. However, Anyplace Control resolves this type of issues by offering you to connect using the Online Account Connection mode.
|
|
With Online Account Connection option you don't need to know the remote IP address, because the connection is established with the Online Account Name and PC name.
|
In such case you don't need any IP address, because the connection is established with the Online Account name and PC name.

Note 1: If you don't see the Host PC in your Address Book, make sure it is already added into your Online Account.
|
|
Note 2: If the connection hasn't been established, make sure the firewall/antivirus settings on both the local and remote computers don't interfere with the connection.

Connecting via Internet to network computers located on LAN behind a Router.
If you want to remotely control a network PC that is behind the router via an IP address, use the Router Port Forwarding feature.

Problems with Firewall/Antivirus.

Anyplace Control is able to connect through the Proxy server in Online Account Connection mode.
