Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software.SaaS gives companies an alternative. Now, they can plug in and subscribe to services built on shared infrastructure via the Internet. A recent survey of a thousand IT professionals by Forrester Research found that they are turning to hosted (SaaS) products as a way to offload management of non-mission-critical applications.

Anyplace Control is also SaaS. We provide service: remote access to another computer via our Gateway servers. In other words, we sell not software, but service - Online Account Connection.
It is similar to Skype.
Although you are able to download and install Skyp on the computer, but it is service (not only software).
For example "Outlook Express" is pure software. But gmail is pure SaaS.
But Anyplace Control and Skype are the mix of software with SaaS

As a cloud can be made public or private to anyone on the Internet, the possibilities for companies developing their environment are endless.one application can be shared across multiple clients. That is so called SAAS.
